Interesting chart, but co-relation is not causality.

You and I shared our first impression, I think. The chart does not show that an increase in ownership reduced crime. However, it does negate the liberal argument that an increase in ownership increases crime.

Agreed. It would be interesting to get a correlation coeffiecient between the two lines. It appears to me that the two are unrelated. One other note, increases in gun ownership do increase crime, IF you make gun ownership a crime. This is what has happened by virtue of the victim disarmament laws that our legislatures have passed. DemocRATs WANT to criminalize gun ownership because gun owners don't vote for RATs. Its a two-fer - they get to oppress us (which is "fun" for them) and they get to strip us of our right to vote if we disobey.
