There are two camps in Roman Catholicism. Traditional ( conservative ) and Modern ( socialists ). Mel Gibson is up front about his support for Traditional Catholicism. He used his own money to build a church for the express purpose of giving the community an opportunity to participate in a 'traditional' Roman Catholic Holy Mass.
What Women Want was a romantic comedy. After an accident, a chauvinistic executive ( Gibson ) gains the ability to hear what women are really thinking. It was a funny movie.
Mel Gibson is a solid American.
So what's the beef?
"What women want" was man-hating feminist propaganda with the usual obligitory SOFT PORN. It was Hollywood tripe.
Anyone who has "kinship" with Michael Moore saying he makes some "salient points" is NO conservative. Gibson and his buddy are both movie people who wallow in the leftist cesspool that is Hollywood.
I know about latin mass catholics, and have several friends who attend society of Pius X churches, including one friend who is openly pro-abort (trads can easily be as liberal as Vatican II catholics).
