good reference on Islam in Indonesia, particulary Sumatra and amazingly - Aceh the stronghold of old school islam.
The pesantren schools they talk about sound waaaaaaaay too much like afghan taliban brainwash centers that also are growing like mushrooms in Pakistan with a wink from the military. Their main point seems - don't learn anything about the real world and make sure it's Sharia for Everyone (in the world).
This cultural clash is looking more and more like a GD plague. If it were locusts, we would all agree on what to do.
If it were 100 years ago, we would just be christian to the real folks on the ground and that would probably succeed. But given that approach would be UNIVERSALLY CONDEMNED (think about it) we will have no choice but ongoing conflict. I have a male child that will grow up in a grim world, indeed. Sigh.
Why are we helping these Muslims when they cheered when the towers fell, and give praise every time an American is killed. These people are our enemy not our friends. How many Americans have to die before this is understood. They are first and always Muslim. Islam will not tolerate anything but Islam. Muslims are sheep and slaves to their religious leaders. Muslims do not know how nor due they have the courage to be free, they deserve their slavery. They are two faced and will always lie to get what they want, and what they ultimately want is to destroy America. We are the only country that can stand up to them and the Islamic religious leaders know this and fear us for it. Stop helping them. The people we help today will be attacking us 10 years from now.
