The character of Carlton Banks, Will's pedantic and nerdish cousin, was portrayed by Alfonso Ribeiro. Carlton was a firmly conservative Republican, and often proved both friend and foil for Will.
Let's not forget that Carlton, like Alex P. Keaton, was only conservative when NOT faced with any real issue on which to be conservative. Whenever there was some kind of crisis situation, Carlton and Alex fell in with the left because that was the only sensible thing to do, of course. /sarcasm
I HATED Alex P. Keaton and Carlton. What I wouldn't give for a single conservative on a TV show that isn't a caricature. [Sigh]
