Besides all that, there is the little matter of the continental shelf on the Atlantic coast...especially Florida. This is directly opposite to the trenches of the Asia coast. A tidal wave will strike the continental shelf several hundred miles from the occupied coast and largely spend its energy.

Still we can hope that the blue left coast could get wiped.
