Bridge?... For criminy sakes the Freekin' boat was at 525 feet, who the hell was on the bridge? News people just don't check their facts. I read another today that talked about 23 soldiers injured in the accident. What? The Army crewing the boats now! The bridge is only used when on the surface!
The media does this all the time when talking about sailors and marines, calling them soldiers. I've called local stations and chewed them out but it really doesn't do any good. Just plain poor reporting..

That sounds about right since they were running a flank bell (provided the speed estimate is halfway accurate). That's about in the middle of the operating envelope for that speed.
