I am sub qualified and a sub veteran. I was a crew member on a boat involver in a grounding incident. The CO during the incident was NOT relieved. However, that is all I can say in an open forum. Actually, that is all I can say in any forum.

Its not a foregone conclusion a CO will be relieved in a grounding. Some will and some will not be.

It depends on whether or not negligence was involved.

I didnt clarify it enough, I think.

I've seen it go both ways.
