There is no defense for using taxpayer dollars to pay journalists for 'fake news' and favorable coverage of a federal program," said Ralph Neas, president of People for the American Way, a liberal group that has tracked the department's spending.

Neas and Kennedy will rot in hell. I could care less who paid Williams.

this was on the front page of usatoday today.

it's interesting how when we have a republican president, we have an adversary media.

conversely, when we have a democrat president, we have not an adversary media.

If Bush's programs got the FREE publicity that the dems programs and objections to Bush's got, then they wouldn't have to pay for commercials.

All you have to do is turn on the news to hear the "propaganda" of the left----FREE.

I may be stupid, but is propaganda really = to telling people about the different programs and benefits available to them? If the dems are screaming propaganda on this, then what are campaign commercials?

Kerry telling people that if he is president, the lame will walk---everyone will have healthcare the day he takes office? Isn't that propaganda?

All commercials are doing is informing the puplic what the CONGRESS has done---how else are they gonna find out--people are so ignorant you have to do something to get their attention.

I don't care how much the columnist gets paid - you can put perfume on a pig, but it's still a pig. No Child Left Behind is one stinker of a law - it involves the federal government in local public education more deeply than ever before, with NO benefit whatever to schools that are already doing a good job.

The lawmakers contended that "the act of bribing journalists to bias their news in favor of government policies undermines the integrity of our democracy."

OMFG alert. As opposed to having entire print media outlets at your beck and call, because the Leftists who inhabit them are getting a fulltime paycheck to bias their news in favor of Leftist policies. [And also getting a full-time paycheck to sue the occasional right-wing website which displeases the Democrat occupant of the White House. ;-)]
