I believe an acre is what it is called when using the Imperial measurment
It is called a hectare when using the metric system.

Killer thing is, my friend lives check to check with his family of four. He's so incredibly down to earth though he doesn't think twice about it.

If I remember correctly (correct me if I am wrong) in the 1700's, real estate taxes were based upon the number of hectares owned. The idea was a tax mechanism as to how to pay for schooling the children.
Of course today, the DOE has a different calculus.

Joe, you're back!
With Oracle's acquisition of Peoplesoft, the backflash is a resultant layoff of guys like me and many of my compadres. Business Project Managers and Consultants will be without employment. It seems that he mentality today is that 35 years running many projects mean nothing to the big guns at the top.
When I run an operation, I look towards the Colonels, Majors; while bringing other staff under my wing in a participatary role.
