My best friend owns a 4 bedroom home and a surrounding 400 acres down there in Taos, as a vacation home. His father bought the land and built the house himself when he got out of the Airforce back in the early 60's and gave it to him. I shudder to think what it might be worth, and he's scared to death to find out, because he wants to keep it.

Holy shi'ite! A communist Marxist, hate-America-first bitch buying property from an old VRWC bastard like Donald Rumsfeld?
I mentioned this to Karen (my wife), said that it would be like throwing water on the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz novel.
Karen and I hope that this woman melts down post haste!
She could star live in an actual Friday the 13th reality.

13ha of Taos, New Mexico Does this mean "13 half-acres?" What a quaint way to measure land.
I recall that, when our armed forces were poised to enter Iraq, Rumsfeld's Taos ranch was vandalized by the local "artistic community."
That said, Taos is one of the best places I've ever been, especially the Rio Grande Gorge. I love it and lament the leftie-celebrity invasion of beautiful northern New Mexico.

I wonder if Rummy put up shrines honoring people in the Republican Party before he left, including G.W. I certainly would. :-D
To: mylife
it looks like Julia Roberts needs some extra space. Needs more lip collagen warehousing.
To: KiloLima
I don't think so not hardly 1/2 acres
To: mylife
This deal went for $100,000 per acre. I have a suspicion that Rumsfeld's wife likes the music and arts scene there. Santa Fe symphony etc etc

This means hectares. A Hectare is 100 ares, or 10,000 square meters.
1 hectare = 2.47 acres
13 hectares = 32.12 acres

Probably. . . how much is a hectare? Bigger than an acre?

I had a wonderful image of Rumsfeld and Roberts at the closing, until I realized they probably had attorneys take care of it. Oh, well, one can dream.

In Julia's dictionary, "real estate" comes before "republican" (which comes between "reptile" and "repugnant")
