Unless the job requires the weatherbabe to wear a skimpy bikini or thong, I don't think age should be a factor.
It's all about ratings, and I haven't seen any elderly female weathermen on any station that I can recall. Maybe they end up at a Hugoton, Kansas affiliate, but in major markets, the weatherbabes are about looks as much as ability to tell us about the weather.
