BORDEAUX, France, Jan 6 (AFP) - Bordeaux wine producers announced more depressing export figures Thursday, with sales to the United States down by more than a third in a year.
Overall exports from the historic wine region of southwest France were down 10 percent in volume and 24 percent in value for the first three quarters of 2004 compared to the same period in 2003, according to the Interprofessional Council of Bordeaux Wine (CIVB).
Exports to the United States were down by a massive 35 percent in volume and 59 percent in value, and sales to Britain down by 21 percent in volume and 33 percent in value, it reported.
In all the region sold 1.27 million hectolitres in the year to October, for EUR 786 million (USD 1,037 million).
The only good news was an increase in sales to Russia and the Asian market.
French wine-makers are going through their worst crisis in decades thanks to competition from new producer countries and falling domestic consumption.
Even the french aren't drinking it. < snicker >
Proudly made in Bradford, PA, USA.
I have worked with a lot of pharaceutical companies on many projects. One of their buggist concerns was that hey plow hundreds of millions of dollars into R&D, waiting 12 years for FDA approval, onlty to have an identical drug come out at 1/10th the price. I do not have the answer, I am not a phramacologist,; but you may want to Google anticoagulants, and discern if there is an equivalent drug that equals Plavix. I hope this helps. God Bless you. My Dad was in a similar situation before I understood the pharmaceutical business.
Zippos work! My Dad used them in WWII when he was on board ship in the Pacific Isles; there was no Zippo on Ronsonol lighter fluid. He used kerosene as lighter fuel!
Dryer wines have less of a hang-over effect. The reds make ya more mellow than the whites; but have a tendency to put ya to sleep a little sooner. Aussie wines are terrific. Black Swan is our favorite. Next is Yellow Tail, but we don't like the plastic corks.
Marcus James wines from Argentina are very good. Had the Cabernet Sauvignon
Okay. I didn't know that. Most cars can get you from point A to point B as well.
For the sake of being a successful boycotter you need to say, "I used to drink 3 bottles of French wine per day. But now I don't drink any." I know it is a lie but hey this is a boycott.

Yes, but cars last longer than one meal. Besides, some are safer and drive better than others. I believe this is the old apples and oranges argument. LOL. Anyway, I drive a BMW. So does my wife.
I drive a Beemer too. The wife drives a MiniCooper S (a BMW)
(USA sales plummet, boycott is working!!!)
Good. Keep it up.
