16 year old boy, 22 year old woman? Excuse me if I don't seem outraged enough.

Yep, this is exactly what parents expect when they send their minor kids to school, leaving them in the hands of the responsible professionals.

California's age of consent is 16. This woman, as per the law, raped a minor. As bad as molesting a pre-teen? Certainly not. Fine and dandy? No.

When I was 17 by about three weeks, a 24 year old woman and I had an affair. I'm fifty years old now, and I'm still greatful. There was a thread about another teacher who had sex with a 13 year old boy and that's different. By the time you're sixteen, you know what you're doing, in regards as to whether or not you choose to have sex with someone.

The role differences are important. This is a betrayal of trust, of a fiduciary relationship, in effect, whether you get it or not.
