Bernstein is as leftie as they come, but he did write a good book on how Pope John Paul II and Reagan tag-teamed to destroy the Evil Empire in the Cold War. Excellent read, and a subject verboten for MSM news "magazines" to report.
I agree. When I saw who wrote it, I was expecting the typical anti-Catholic leftie smears, but after reading it was surprised (actually gobsmacked) at how well Bernstein treated both the Pope and The Gipper.
Just shows that you can't always tell a book by it's cover ~;))
