Many months ago I was of the same opinion on the basis of Machiavelli's observation that nothing is so hard as replacing an existing order of things since those displaced fight fiercely and those to who are about to benefit are uncertain because the benefits are not observable and experienced.
Presumably, it was determined that this would not be the approach because the Baathists were unreliable and would not be trusted by the Sunni and Kurd majority. This was undoubtedly a well thought out judgment call. As such it should be honored as part of our foreign policy.
Kerry's criticisms, especially in the theater of the conflict, are inexcusable. The man has no class, is a crass opportunist and his critique will not inspire the loyalty and support he craves. Men know better!

The Dems have made themselves the enemy of our Constitution and of our men and women in uniform.
