Good Movies are doing well while movies Like Alexander, promoting homosexuality are doing badly.

Proof abounds that those in Hollywood "denial" ("We just give the public what it wants") are lying. What they want to "give the public" is a leftwing enema. And as usual, normal people are not bending over.

"If you do your homework, you can find movies that are good."

Absolutely. Anybody else here see "True Grit?"

Hildy, When I eat too much popcorn, bad things happen--don't ask.
(Moderator, pull this post!)
So...you liked Sideways, eh?
Since I'm way too intellectual to actually WATCH movies, but since everyone wants to TALK about them, I have become very good at LISTENING to comments about movies (I do the same with sports).

And...I hear that Sideways is very EROTIC...lots of nasty SEX...and you give it "two thumbs up"--two thumbs up indeed!
So...we know what YOU enjoy, wink wink, nudge nudge...

I wouldn't exactly say, NASTY SEX. There were a couple of sex scenes, yes. But it wasn't about that, of course. I liked it, but I thought I'd like it more than I did.

So, what is it about? Two couples, fortyish, mid-life crises, something like that? I've heard it is a very good flick. Dialog? Characters? Good Acting? Ending? Laughs? Cries?

But, this sort of drama is really not my cup of tea.
I don't suppose there were any space ships or karate fights?

ERRR...no karate, although one of the guys gets beaten up by an Asian girl. Does that count?

No I did not go to see it, but I plan on buying it. I'm certain that does not make me a bad person.

Hey Hemi Dawg .... I saw THE AVIATOR today. Care to know what I thought? (I obviously have a lot of free time on my hands lately!!!)

Yes, please tell me, by all means, so I don't have to see it. The star of Aviator is one of those actors who I boycott. There are so many of those idiots. Like meet the Fokers--I enjoyed the first film but I can't bring myself to see the sequal since babs is in it.

p.s. while you watching the movies, I taught myself to tune and play the guitar. Came up with a cool song already.

I enjoyed The Aviator. IMO, Leonardo is a very good actor. It just takes the viewer a little while to get over the fact the guy still looks like he's 15 years old. I actually liked the movie alot because I learned alot about the early days of aviation which I knew nothing. He was quite the interesting man. The acting by the whole case was just brilliant. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars. I saw MEET THE FOKKERS too. (Told ya I had a lot of time on my hands). However, I did not see Meet the Parents as I am not a Ben Stiller fan. It was ok. She wasn't too offensive, I mean, no more than the whole movie was. I didn't care for it too much.

By the way, I play guitar too. And flute, and a little piano.

"Will Hollyweird listen to the public and start making good family movies?"

Well, obviously it is because Americans just don't realize that they prefer perversion. They have to be told for awhile longer. Never fear; soon these pervert presentations will premiere in the elementary schools so the children can learn at an early age the importance of being queer. < /sarcasm >

Yes, Leonardo is a great actor. Too bad he put himself on my sh*t list with that big mouth of his. Oh, well, If I can forgo french wine for the cause, I can forgo Leo.

I'm not a Stiller fan either but I could relate to meet the parents--i've been in that sitch! Also something about mary had some killer, outrageous laughs.

I play piano a little. One of my older brothers is a self-taught musician; he writes, sings, records, arranges and plays almost every instrument well. Its just a hobby with him. He inspired me to teach myself piano centuries ago and I still really enjoy playing some pieces (classical and christmas songs and pop) but mostly writing my own stuff.

My daughter (age 11) has got the bug now (she plays flute with her school orchestra) and she has inspired me to revisit the piano and take up the guitar finally.

I've just ordered some guitar picks from amazon--I really enjoyed strumming my song by hand and getting the feel, but now my fingers are all bloody! Can one use a glove or something?
