I don't know 'nuthing 'bout shooting guns Scarlet.... In my previous life, we had a 357 magnum rugar and I beat my ex all the time. I can aim a bow and hit a target. My problem is, I don't practice. I have a good eye and a natural ability, or so I'm told. I think a lot of it is instinctive, and I believe my daughter inherited that ability. One soldier I met last week was sent to special training. He's on the list for sniper school, and has the mind set of a sniper, really calm, really cool, ya know what I mean? Kind of like the black belt guy who won't fight. They are a different type of mindset. He was trained on 500 m targets. And get this, there was an 86 year old WWII vet teaching him. He told me this old guy could still tick off a feather on a chicken. What an amazing man that guy is. The soldier, not the old guy, thinks my kid would be able to hit those kind of targets, so, they're going to check out some weapons and give it a go. Their best buddy is in charge of weapons. She's excited.

Kind of like the black belt guy who won't fightI lived with that for year when I had a dog the size of a bison in a neighborhood full of dogs.
Seriously, that is a talent. After a few weeks of Personal Protection class, newbie studenta for handgun recommentdations and my first question is always, 'how do you react under stress?' Some naturally turn to steel and some panic.
I wish her great success in the try-out. Wouldn't that be something to brag about!

I'm enjoying reading about your soldier daughter's experiences and those of her unit.
Tell her we are all so proud of of them and that they are in our prayers.
