Yeah, grab 'em off the CA district and supreme court, right? Just what we need, liberal judges deciding how many Democrats get elected next time.
Instead of letting the Dem pick their own district boundries, have a sit down conference and argue about it, politician to politician, party to party.
I believe it would be a 3-member panel appointed by leaders of the legislature. That said, if the Dems get to appoint two of the three, it's not clear what the gain would be.
Better to appoint a slightly larger, even-numbered panel.
But there's still the problem of who would appoint them.
