I agree with your assessment regarding Rand's total inability to grasp human nature. I enjoy her books, but I get the same feeling when reading them that I get when reading something from Tom Clancy - that this author couldn't interact in a social setting to save their life.
Wonder if Dagny would've went for Jack Ryan. LOL
