She, like most of the others she knows aren't in any support group. I guess her platoon is fortunate, they have lots of family support, it's others in her battalion, brigade, etc, her platoon has tons of family support, that's a good thing. I should mention, she's decon in HHC, her platoon only has 22 people. They're tight.

I'd believe it....My FIST platoon had 65 in it, you knew everyones first name and where they were living and all that. I am sure smaller numbers would bring that too...

He had just finished doing inventory of the Stryker (he's the Squad Leader)and was heading to the mess hall when it blew. Four members of his platoon were killed.

I can probably relate....

I had a rocket hit about 60 feet from my trailer. Had I been in the bathroom or outside at the time and not asleep, I would have been done more than likely.

All you have to do, I think, is hit the abuse button and ask the mods to change it. It's not like you're asking that a published article title is to be changed, it's a vanity, a good one BTW. Anyway, it's your baby, and you all are so much better at military things than me, I'm coming from a, 'would I click on this' perspective point of view. If you do change it, may I suggest a new thread linking this one to the new one? Man, I'm pushy. FYI, I'm an engineer with an MBA, just so you know where I'm coming from......

they were 16, got a couple newbies over the last couple weeks. She said that's extremely unusual, but she's Decon, and told me they tend to be smaller.

So, what does a stryker brigade do?

Right now they are doing street patrol in Mosul.

That sucks, I know most of the kids in my daughter's platoon, it would be like losing a sibling. Anything we can do? Prayers for him and his family are coming at a minimum.
