Hayworth critical of Mexico's immigrant 'guide'(GUIDE to help ILLEGAL ALIENS sneak into USA)

Scottsdale Republican Congressman J.D. Hayworth is criticizing the Mexican government over a controversial pamphlet for migrants and undocumented immigrants looking to enter the United States.

The Mexican government has put out a new booklet titled "Guide to the Mexican Immigrant." The guide gives Mexican migrants information regarding how to cross into the United States safely. There has been a substantial number of deaths of Mexican immigrants in the Southwestern desert in recent years. Also, the smuggling of some of those immigrants into Tucson, Phoenix and other U.S. cities has resulted in other illegal activities, kidnappings and violence between rival smuggling gangs.

But the booklet is being criticized by some in the U.S. as another encouragement of illegal immigration by the Mexican government.

Hayworth, a conservative who represents Scottsdale, Tempe and Ahwatukee, said Tuesday the migrant guide is a "flagrant example of the Mexican government's lack of respect for U.S. laws."

Hayworth is voicing his protest in a letter to the Mexican ambassador in Washington.

"The booklet is essentially a 'how to' guide for illegal entry into the U.S. that provides recommendations for illegal aliens in evading detection of federal authorities once in the U.S. Not once does the guide mention how a Mexican migrant can come the U.S. legally," Hayworth said in the letter.

This is not the first time Hayworth has criticized the Mexican government for not doing more to address illegal immigration into the United States. That includes threats to reduce U.S. foreign aid to Mexico and use some of that money to address immigration costs.

The Republican is mulling a run for governor in 2006 against incumbent Democrat Janet Napolitano. Hayworth has become increasingly hawkish on the immigration front in recent months, arguing tougher border controls and stricter enforcement of existing immigration laws need to precede new proposals such a guest worker plan.

Guest worker initiatives have the backing of business groups, the Bush administration, Napolitano and some other Arizona Republicans.

Just put a modest bounty on them, say $100 a head. I know a lot of people down here on the border who would be quitting their day jobs real quick.

This whole situation is becoming more and more absurd.

Fox contiunes to kick sand in Bush's face and Bush just stands there smiling and takes it. No, he even encourages it. On many an issue, only Kerry makes Bush look good and this is one of them.

Americans 100 years ago wouldn't have stood for this.

Americans 50 years ago wouldn't have stood for it.

Its about time Americans stood up and took action to stop this illegal invasion of our nation, this violation of our borders by an army of invaders, aided and abetted by leftist clerics and greedy capitalists.

America belongs to Americans, not to the rest of the world and the handful of profiteers who benefit from cheap alien labor.

More people should pick up a copy of the Declaration of Independence and READ it.

The FBI issued a report that nearly all MS13 gang members in Virginia are illegal aliens. They suspect that there are 4000 members of MS13 in Nothern Virginia alone.

That was in the Washington Times a few months ago, the story was posted on this forum.

Did they say why they're not doing anything about it?

I don't know what, if anything, is being done about it at the Federal level, but at the state level Virginia did pass a law which allows the police to, under reasonable suspicion that a crime has or is being comitted, detain someone who is not in the country legally for up to 72 hours and notify the INS.

Prince William County police busted a bunch of day-laborers for loitering and used this law to discover that 11 of them were wanted by the INS for immigration violations.

But I haven't heard any reports that this law has been used to curb gang activity. Although it wouldn't much surprise me if those day-laborers were gang bangers too.

Interesting. Remember when the feds and local police in NC, I believe, descended one early morn and busted a bunch of illegals working at a job site? I guess the gang thing is too hard for them.
