Evidently, then, you have found a lie in the Bible.
The Bible says:
Train a child up in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
I have never found that violated. Never.
I've found those who claimed so. But a few questions demonstrated, they were wrong.
"Evidently, then, you have found a lie in the Bible. The Bible says: Train a child up in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
So, people who develop paranoid schizophrenia were trained up in it? Same with depression? OCD?
With any child, a person could find some fault in the way that they were raised. In the people that turn out ok, there is no reason to even investigate their childhood.
People are individuals and aren't robots - they can't be programmed. Two children growing up in the same household can turn out totally different. Its a combination of nature, nurture and circumstance.
Also, many parents who profess in being "strict" with their kids actually just aren't aware of what their kids are doing.
One set of parents at my church was so proud of their 16 year daughter and the job they had done raising her - no unsuitable movies, no seeing guys unsupervised, bible reading every night, etc. What they didn't know was that she was giving every guy in her singles class blowjobs. When it was finally discovered, she claimed she didn't sin since she was still a virgin.
A lot of the innocent ones aren't really all that innocent - its just that they are smart enough not to get caught.
