You might consider going over that pastor's head--with the Board and any ecclesiatical superiors. I don't know the legal implications of doing so--which should be checked out.
But I wouldn't sit still and have a pastor prolong such agony out of idiocy or any other excuse. That dork needs a vigorous education.
My husband has spoken with him. This is one of those "pastors" who has started his own church, and so far as we know, there is no board.In real life, his day job is postal carrier! This man is of a breed our pastor calls "pastor kings".
