Well, evidently you and I are sinners in the minds of the "real, true" conservatives.

You all must have lived a depressing life.

I can't argue with that. But the bigger question that the article raises is where in the Bible is homosexuality identified as a more series sin than divorce or the underlying cause of many divorces, adultry. Homosexuality doesn't even make the top ten "thou shall not" list.

In the long run? (I am speaking of eternity here)

Don't get me wrong. I am divorced too. But I am one of those "never saw it coming" guys...

Oh, and it worked out very well for me as well. Met the woman of my dreams and we are just about done with year six of our honeymoon. The ex and my kids didn't do so well though. They'll live, but the scars on the kids are quite permanent. I did eventually get custody of the one that is still a minor.

Re: "best thing that ever happened to me,my former spouse, and our 5 kids(who were all adults when we were divorced)."

I hate to address a subject so personal, but since you made this public on a forum. The wisdom of this in your case I will not address (too little information) but I will say it is good your kids were adults or I doubt you would be able to make such a claim. I have seen it for myself and have heard too many day care workers and teachers who will say you can spot a minor from a broken home from across the room. These kids are scared and have an ax to grind. We have yet to see the effects of a general population where a sizable % of the population is in charge. The kids from broken homes of the 70's & 80's are just beginning to take the helm. Euthanasia is just one area you can see expansion. These kids (GROWING UP) in broken homes have learned one thing real well. It's all about the adults convenience and pleasure.

Please do not take this personal, it isn't meant to be. I am speaking in general.

Sometimes divorcing is better than staying in a bad marriage. I wish my parents had not falling for the bull funky of staing married for the sake of the children.

Ditto. Divorce was one of the best things to ever happen to me as well. Luckily however, we had no children.

I'm divorced -best thing that ever happened to me...

I'm divorced -worst thing that ever happened to me...

Not addressing anyone specifically; however, divorce does not just 'happen' -a mutual divorce is the exception...

Would it be too much to suggest that approximately 'half' the divorced population as human nature dictates would wish to justify thier decision and therefore be biased as to sinful the nature of divorce?
