While the Dems are attempting to self destruct by going farther left, it appears some conservatives are trying to appear ignorant by attacking science. Attacking the bad science of environmentalists is one thing. Attacking something like evolution with a century of hard core evidence behind it is another.
Not a good way to get decent supreme court nominees confirmed.
I abandoned World Net Daily because Joe Farah keeps injecting his belief in ID into what should be an issues news source.
I'll bail on FR too, if it goes the same way.
Note to the left: Your way to victory is to split the conservative base between those who believe in creationism vs those who give God the bennefit of the doubt that maybe he invented evolution first.
No offense intended but this doesn't sound very open minded.
The "debate" about evolution is purely a media game played by some folks who I don't doubt have other motives in mind than scientific truth. Evolution as a basic principle is quite settled science.
I have yet to see any other theory on how creatures come into existence with positive evidence to support it. I've only seen people pick at nits in the scientific world looking for problems.
The whole anti-evolution debate has about as much credence as the discussion of space aliens at Roswell. Unfortunately lots of people believe there really were space aliens at Roswell.
Such a debate in the tabloid media is fine, as long as it doesn't become synonymous with conservative politics. Which is my worry.
