Sounds like the blue states are really doing well. Why would any young person chose to live there?

Yeah, that's brilliant. Every voter in Michigan is a liberal, right?

As for property taxes, well, homeowners are already getting a huge subsidy in the form of an 18-mill "nonhomestead" tax they do not have to pay. So I say let homeowners pay their fair share before renters are asked to pay more taxes. What Logic!
I'm paying too much in taxes, so you should pay more to make it even.

Being a Wisconsin Badger fan every Michigan(ite) has some allegiance or knowledge of the Spartans - therefore they deserve it. Hike them taxes UP! Guilty by association.

I'm a U of M fan. Now what?

As a renter, exactly how much property tax do you pay?

Guilt by association. Sorry. I sees them as I calls them.
Hut Hut - HIKE - them taxes.
Hope you have some levity and aren't taking me too serious. On a serious note, I understand the politics of a state where a large urban population dictates to the rest of the state. It can be frustrating; just look at New York where most of the counties went Republican but you won't hear that in the press.

Property tax is included in the rent. I get a property tax increase, I pass the costs on to the renter.

It can be frustrating as hell. I live in Wayne county (which also includes Detroit) and I know without blinking that that city will
always tip an election left for the entire county.
P.S. I hate Favre. Hahahaha

So you are the property owner and not the renter? Then what is your complaint, exactly?

The Robinhood syndrome. To think that Homeowners and landlords should pay their fair share is folly. The renter should always make the situation profitable for the landlord. You can tax this and not tax that and make everyone feel good by sticking it to the man, but in the end, the landlord deserves his due and the renter will foot the bill. It's like the old axiom of 'taxing the evil corporation' - just who in the heck pays those taxes?? The employees to a degree and ultimately the consumer. The company will make its money.

Ooops, sorry. I was thinking you were the other poster that had been talking about the renting first. I din't check the name first.

Don't be a hater... He (Favre) is one of the purists still left in a game that is increasingly becoming a mere collection of thugs as the NBA has become.
