Second only to Oregon, of course.

For my money, I would prefer that Rossi lose in a tainted election with voters suspect of the Rats and then run in 06 against Maria Cantwell and beat her pants and further the Republican control of the Senate.

What makes you think that Rossi can beat Cantwell in '06? I'm not saying he can't, but I am saying it won't be the slam-dunk that too many people around here seem to think it will be.

The Rats will throw everything but the kitchen sink into her re-election campaign, so she'll have an emormous war chest. She'll have the power of incumbency, complete soldarity on the media front, and full access to Bill and Hill's fund-raising Rolodex. Plus, if the Rats are allowed to get away with an election theft as blatant as this governor's race, you can sure as hell bet that they'll double, treble, whatever it takes, their fraud in 2006. They'll push the envelope farther than you can even imagine.

Ok, but if the Rats have to throw that much at this election it won't be available elsewhere.

"At the end of this, it's never going to match one to one given the volume," said Dean Logan, elections director of King County, which counted about 900,000 votes.

If you weren't either incompotent or a crook, Mr. Logan, they would match exactly one-to-one regardless of the volume.

I observed the poll closing in two different California voting precincts, and the reconciliation of the ballot counts is done right there immediately after the closing of the polls. Every ballot issued, including spoiled ballots, must be reconciled with the voter list and delivered to the regional office.

In one of the precincts I observed, there were 347 ballots issued, 9 of which were spoiled, which added up to 338 votes cast by the 338 individuals who were crossed off of the voter checklists. The 338 were sealed in the ballot box, and the 9 spoiled ballots were sealed in a plastic bag and clipped to the tally sheets.

How hard is that? Even if there's a million ballots, it still comes down to simple arithmetic.

I see that your "money" is in Ohio. I might agree with you if I was an out-of-stater, too, but I'm here and I want to fight for a fair election.

Rossi hasn't indicated he's interested in running against Cantwell. Even if he is, she's arguably the more appealing of our two senators, and the voters here just handily re-elected the other one, Patty Murray, who made comments praising Osama bin Laden to high school students after 9/11.

If we roll over now, it's no guarantee it does us any good in 2006. We have to stand and fight.

I agree. Fight them now or be ready for whatever they do to the Republicans in the future.

"This one actually is open confession of fraud. Why are people signing a voting book (voting at the polls) when they "actually voted a provisional ballot"? Has she just admitted that there was double voting and that she was going to fix it tomorrow? When she fixes it, there will be no record of these people multiple voting."

This can not be allowed to happen.

YOU WROTE:
"If this "election" of the Democrat stands, I believe that the serious consequences will be the end of the Dem party as a contender in Washington politics. Even the uninterested-in-politics-citizen can understand and be repulsed by this level of brazen fraud."

"I would bet on Washington voting in a Repub Senator and a Repub governor in their next election cycles."

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? Washington voted in a Republican Governor last election, but the democRATS are stealing it away. If we let them win this way, they will commit fraud everytime and Republicans will never gain power - regardless of the vote.

Giving up on our right to a fair election is never an option. Don’t succumb to the loser mentality.

That's exactly right! It is brazen theft. They giggle and walk away unafraid. We got out worked our behinds off and elected a Republican Gov. Western WA is a horrible corrupt place. I've always said, everything east of the Cascades should shake off those blood sucking deer ticks and join Idaho.

I don't consider emphasis on the US Senate a surrender. I think he emerges as a cause celeb for the Senate Race.

I'm not sure how going to a 'court' is going to prove anything that isn't already known.

It very well may not but what it can do is make the facts actionable.

"The controls that are in place in the election process ensure that only registered voters are going to receive a ballot. While I understand the concern that comes from seeing two different numbers, the controls are at the front end."

What good does it do to have controls at the front end when you have rearends in the middle manuipulating ballots.?

Yesterday, I wrote:

This assumes that all that Rossi wants is power, and that if he can't get it as Washington State's governor, he'll seek it as their Senator. The flaw in that thinking is the difference between an executive position and a legislative position, and the difference between an office in Olympia and an office in Washington, DC.

This is the race that Rossi ran, and this is the fight that he should see to the end.
