Actually, I'd heard that rescue workers were shocked not to find lots of dead animals among the debris and dead humans.

Animals know things we do not. I can't explain it, but I've seen it and I believe it. No doubt the tribal people have experienced the same.

In Thailand there have been quite a bit of dead fish, sharks, dolphins, and other marine life on the shore. There have also been quite a few dead pigs, snakes, and other small animals.

Apparently, Dr. Doolittle lives on these islands and he not only talks to the animals, he listens!
