If I wanted a lecture on GOD/Jesus/religion,I'd go over to FR's religion forum.

Some people are born with abilities other aren't and they can be of any faith or none. Some things called paranormal are just outside of what most can do;that's all. No witch craft,no demons,no nothing demonic...just as being left handed is no longer thought of as being DEMONIC,or having twins,or giving birth to an hermaphrodite!

>>>>Brain research in the last decade or two disputes that we use only a small part of our brains.

I've seen this too. It is being phased out like our history.

>>>I do believe that there are capacities that are dormant.

You are correct.

>>>>I believe that we can tap into a spiritual dimension from which demonic forces and/or Holy Spirit can communicate to us.

>>>>I believe it's crucial to avoid the demonic side of things. The cost is tooooo dear not to.

>>>>Sometimes, I think God's Love is sooooo huge, that He will communicate to people however they will receive it.

He didn't mention ESP,so you are trying to weasel out a refutation.

I know all about Randi's challenge and he's never once said anything at all about ESP. Bending spoons? YES! Seeing through dough and bandages, like THE GREAT KRESKIN? Absolutely!

Your nic suits you. :-)

I don't think that running about blind folded and not hitting anything can be labeled as ESP,but she does have one heck of a different ability;that's for sure. :-)

I don't know how much or what is dormant God-given-to-everyone sort of capacities; how much is demonic and how much Holy Spirit--ESPECIALLY when someone doesn't have a close relationship with God.

I believe all 3 are likely to be factors that would explain some sorts of things--Not together--I don't believe Holy Spirit associates near demonic activity at all--that is--Holy Spirit is not about to have someone confuse who THE SOURCE is.

I expect God to make such things clear in eternity.

I do know that many supernatural things have a demonic association which masquerades as good for seductive purposes that only become clear years later.

From the off forum spats we have had....I think he can find it funny. JMO. Otherwise he would have virtually zapped me by now :)

But I found it funny :D

That's why I called it ESP-like, because I don't know what it is. But she moved around the room as if she could see, without hitting anything. Even if we moved things around the whole time.

OK. THX.

But I don't even have a need to see it as improbable. It doesn't jangle my sensibilities or world view at all to accept it at face value as a mostly accurate report of these tribal people's personal and group experiences.

I have found such peoples to be pretty accurate relaters of what happened in a given event--especially one of this nature. If the translators are accurate, then I think, much more often than not, one will get a pretty accurate report--especially if one sticks to behaviors and sequences of behaviors.

Going up to the hills days before an event is a pretty straight forward behavior--easily refuted if one or a handful of people out of 50 were lying.

I can't explain it, but I've seen it and I believe it. No doubt the tribal people have experienced the same.

Apparently, Dr. Doolittle lives on these islands and he not only talks to the animals, he listens!

How do you know no 'witchcraft', 'demonism', or other 'spiritual' issues aren't at work when a community reportedly displaces itself more than a day before the event? I don't and I have studied similar issues a fair amount.

I have not lectured to this topic, but have posed the situation so that those who have studied the issue might understand it in a consistant language as previously touched upon by others in those fields.

There do exist phenomena outside the physical and conscience realm which touches upon our thinking processes. Those studies within Christianity touch upon the study of the spirit. Nothing insulting in that issue,..it's only been around for about 5600 years.

NOT AT ALL.

But you haven't the world view; construction on reality; perceptiveness; nor knowledge of me

to know better than that. Sadly.

[sigh]

Nobody here is trying to explain anything away. Maybe they did leave the beach days in advance. Maybe so. Good for them. Two hours in advance would have been somehat more impressive from the Art Bell standpoint, but I'll accept two days if that's what happened.

As it would happen... I don't actually care. That these people were saved from terror at the pitiful mercy of ocean waves is a great and wonderful thing for them. It would seem to me that this is what matters.

Whether there was an active spiritual component to their fate that was different from the fate of thousands of others is matter for resolution only in another life. It is not for resolution here.

We have a tendency to underestimate the technology or the scientific understanding held by ancient peoples.

Because the further we go back in written history the more ignorant people seem, we unconsciously assume men who lived before history was written, must have been the most ignorant of all.

But ignorance of the most important things likely began when writing began.

That is NOT what they said happened. When the waters receded, they were long in the mountains already.

Why is that so hard to believe, folks?

Just because it's not been in your experience? How arrogant and cheeky!

Sheesh.

He didn't mention ESP,so you are trying to weasel out a refutation.

His website states, "At JREF, we offer a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event."

ESP would surely fall under one of those categories. Have you tried contacting him to see if you qualify for the challenge?
