I didn't find anything offensive about his warning. It sounded quite polite to me.
What about free speech?

Only liberals are allowed free speech. Conservatives aren't.

Telluride is a perfect example of a metastasized California cancer. I lived out in that area 20 years ago, just as the Beautiful People were starting to "discover" it. It WAS a great place to ski. I've heard it still is, if you don't mind fighting your way down the Coonskin run through a phalanx of fags.

Would they rather unknowing families be offended after they show up? I do not care if a guy is a butt pirate or not. But if they are to go completely wild at an event, then I want no part of it and will find their behavior offenseive. What goes on behind close doors is their business. Some of what goes on when my bedroom I really would not want to share with anyone (except my girlfriend ) either. When you flaunt it in my face, that is another story.

I see nothing wrong with the warining. It wasn't really what I would call a warning so much as heads up to people who don't want to be associated with that type of behavior or have their children exposed to it. Libs and Gays think that they have the right to tell someone what to do and say. He can say what he wants on his web site and tell them to go jump through a hoop. They are always saying what offends them, but no one else is supposed to be offended BY them.

IMO it's not so much about free speech as it is about the way the left can at once be a perpetrator of hate and a victim of it with great notice of the first and little of the latter. The problem is the elevation of queers to some majestic pedestal. A benighted group against whom no negative word may uttered and no negative thought be conceived. You can wish a thousand Mogadishus against America but heaven forbid you proffer a simple, nearly politically correct warning to families about a clearly family unfriendly event.

LOL! Is it this week? My cousin, whom I live with, just left for Telluride yesterday. Boy, is he going to be in for an eye full... Ick.

It WAS a great place to ski. I've heard it still is, if you don't mind fighting your way down the Coonskin run through a phalanx of fags. Oh gag me. Why does this place feel it necessary to tout it's week of sexual deviancy?
I really feel sorry for parents who otherwise want to involve their kids in an otherwise clean sport.
Scratching Telluride off my list of places to ski.

If they want to have their week of debauchery they should be ready for the normal people to stay away.

What is unfortunate is that those who oppose him will now come down on him like a ton of bricks. This lobby does not seem to take things lightly and if he stands by his beliefs they will force him to pay an awful price...

I don't know what has Telluride's thong in a bunch.
Here's a quick Google search for the event. They even have a logo for the week at one of the links.

Personally, I am offended by the heterophobes constantly thinking they are only ones who can feel offense.
I agree with you that the gentleman tried to post in a polite way relevant information that MANY families and individuals would appreciate knowing. It's similar to the outright disgust and horror the (dare I say) vast majority would feel in bringing their young children to Walt Disney World during its Gay Days event.
The fact is many homosexuals are selfish, spoiled, and expect to be coddled by the media; as such, they believe they can dictate what others think, say, and print by simply stating they have been hurt, offended, discriminated against, yadda, yadda, yadda ...
For their small size, I can think of NO other group which wields such a large influence in our culture.

"Don't Californicate Colorado".
We used to have the same bumperstickers in Arizona 30 years ago(Don't Californicate Arizona). It didn't work.
Hope you have better luck!
This isn't something just happening in Colorado. We have the exact same thing scheduled to Lake Tahoe this year. The ski part is being hosted by Heavenly. It is being promoted as including the same types of events - "drag races" and the like. Unfortunately, the place where they stage the races is at the California Lodge, which also happens to be the place where the ski school is located. So hundreds of local kids (let alone tourists) who have signed up for 10 weekends of ski lessons at our "family" resort now have to intermix with this nonsense.
Any of the locals involved in the tourist trade (which is about 90% of the town) see absolutely no issue with this. Me - I'm pretty pissed that I bought 6 season passes for the family and spent a few thousand on the ski program for the kids to have them have to deal with this. Heavenly's address is
http://www.skiheavenly.com. Feel free to drop them a line if you also find these types of events to be unnecessary and divisive. And - let them know you are happy to take your family ski vacation at another resort!
Thanks
