These all make me shake my head, but it is #9 and #6 that leave me speechless.
A comprehensive list to be sure, but not all inclusive. Anyone have one to add?

Number 6 definitely got to me. How could that woman even think of doing that? I've never had kids, but I just can't imagine that gruesome Sophie's choice.
Most of the rest just show us what we're up against from liberals. I'd be tempted to go to a LR concert and sit up in front with a T-shirt that said "Christian Conservative Republican" in nice, glittery, flowery letters.

30) "Go f*ck yourself." -- Vice President Dick Cheney to Sen. Patrick Leahy on the Senate floorPerhaps I'm in the minority here but this quote raised Dick Cheney in my estimation tenfold. Obnoxious? Hardly.

(30) "Go f*ck yourself." -- Vice President Dick Cheney to Sen. Patrick Leahy on the Senate floor
...Sorry but that was one of the few times any politician ever spoke exactly what I was thinking.I Give The Vice President high marks for clarity and brevity.Mr Cheney spoke for many of us Vermonters who seldom get a chance to be heard. "Bravo!" Mr Vice President "Bravo!"...I am sad to report it does not appeare that Senator Leahy has complied....

Good list. Must be hard to cull it down to only 40.
Here's another one I remebered reading through these:
"I'm not a lawyer, but they've stirred up a lot of hatred," Clanton continued to rail on Fox News Channel's "Dayside with Linda Vester." "We've got thousands of people now very mad, jackballed up - calling these [Sinclair] stations, protesting, threatening boycotts of their sponsors," he claimed. "I think they're going to regret doing this," the Kerry spokesman warned before adding - "They better hope we don't win."

Great post. As for Vice President Cheney's remark to Lame-o Leahy, we need some more of that candor in the Senate!

3) "I root for hurricanes. When, courtesy of the Weather Channel, I see one forming in the ocean off the coast of Africa, I find myself longing for it to become big and strong--Mother Nature's fist of fury, Gaia's stern rebuke. Considering the havoc mankind has wreaked upon nature with deforesting, stripmining, and the destruction of animal habitat, it only seems fair that nature get some of its own back and teach us that there are forces greater than our own." -- James Wolcott, Vanity Fair Contributing Editor
I wonder what this buttwipe has to say about mother nature these days.....

No. 6 is staggeringly evil. Wait until the child who lived is old enough to understand. He (or she) will certainly feel guilt that his two siblings were killed and he lived. What will he think about mommy? This is one of the single most evil acts ever.

"On the subway, Peter asked, 'Shouldn't we consider having triplets?' And I had this adverse reaction: 'This is why they say it's the woman's choice, because you think I could just carry triplets. That's easy for you to say, but I'd have to give up my life.' Not only would I have to be on bed rest at 20 weeks, I wouldn't be able to fly after 15. I was already at eight weeks. When I found out about the triplets, I felt like: It's not the back of a pickup at 16, but now I'm going to have to move to Staten Island. I'll never leave my house because I'll have to care for these children. I'll have to start shopping only at Costco and buying big jars of mayonnaise. Even in my moments of thinking about having three, I don't think that deep down I was ever considering it." -- Amy Richards, an abortion rights advocate, describes her decision to kill two of her babies, leaving her with a single baby, instead of having triplets There is special place in hell for this self-centered bitch.

4) "Republicans don't believe in the imagination, partly because so few of them have one, but mostly because it gets in the way of their chosen work, which is to destroy the human race and the planet. Human beings, who have imaginations, can see a recipe for disaster in the making; Republicans, whose goal in life is to profit from disaster and who don't give a hoot about human beings, either can't or won't. Which is why I personally think they should be exterminated before they cause any more harm." -- The Village Voice's Michael Feingold, in a theater review of all places LoL, Sweetie.
