Right - when we would sleep on the floor in No Cal, my Jerry Bear would stand up and bark about 5 seconds before a quake (if it was big enough to feel - he didn't do it EVERY time the floor shook a little). I swear he heard them coming.

I miss CA sometimes, but not wondering if it was THE BIG ONE every time the floor shook.

One of my pups, Kandy, barks at spiders, scorpions, or whatever happens to crawl into our house (rural Texas), if she can't get to it. She got stung by a brown 2 inch scorpion once trying to protect my feet from it, but it does not phase her. She paws and barks at stuff that she thinks might hurt me. (dumb dog!)
