OMG! You have got to be kidding me? He actually said this? I have noticed every week He goes further and further off the deep end. They need to cancel that show, not that anyone watches it anyone but still...

Your picture of Susan Estrogen reminds me of the Muppet Rock Singer from the old Muppet Show.

1. Alzehimers. WRONG, Next issue.
2. Drugs
Wrong. Next issue.
3. Sleeping with a liberal
On a scale of metaphyical certitude that would score as a 9.5.
Bye. Bye.

Not to mention Lawrence "LIAR" O'Donnell.

Any who lets both Buchanan and Clift on his show has a bi-polar disorder IMHO. Amen to that, especially Buchanan.

I think John sometimes says things for effect, not because he believes it.McLaughlin does like to shake things up. He's probably the sort of person to avoid in real life, but his act can be entertaining sometimes. He has become more liberal in recent years. It may be a younger wife or girlfriend, or something that happens to ex-priests. It's also unlikely that he does much of his writing or research now, so some of the views you hear may be those of a 23 or 24 year old.
There are old Nixon or Reagan or Bush Sr. hands who aren't so impressed by the President, and McLaughlin is clearly in that group. McLaughlin and Bush's father both worked for Nixon, so for him now it's like a coworker's kid has become big boss and is calling the shots. Time moves on, and whoever has the top job was somebody's kid once, but it can be galling when it happens so close to home.

Muppet Singer/Susan Estrogen--twin sisters separated at birth! Thanks for the pix!
But it does show how much happier you can be if you're born a Muppet and not a Democrat!

He just pronounced Hans Blix the most honest person of the yearLOL. Anyone coming up with that rejoinder is a long way from senility.

Yet McLaughlin was a big supporter of George H.W. Bush as Vice-President and leading up to 1988. I didn't watch him regularly back then. All I can say is at some point early in the current Bush administration McLaughlin snapped. His dislike for W overrides everything else. He has become a total liberal just out of spite. What a motivation.

In his mid-forties,John McLaughlin, this long-haired Jesuit priest ran unsuccessfully (as a Republican against the Vietnam War) for the U.S. Senate from Rhode Island in 1970, but eventually wound up marrying his campaign manager, Ann Dore. After the failed campaign, McLaughlin became a speechwriter for Presidents Nixon and Ford. Ann McLaughlin was Secretary of Labor in the first term of Ronald Reagan. They divorced in 1992. He took his next wife, Cristina Vidal in 1997. Is she related to Gore Vidal? I don't know. John McLaughlin was once someone we enjoyed watching but he has so much bile in his utterances, that we turn him off. I suspect he is holding onto some petty grievance from the past.

Thanks, I tried watching him again yesterday and couldn't take more than 30 seconds.
