Sane people around the world mourn the immense human tragedy from the SE Asia tsunami and have contributed personal funds for humanitarian relief.
PETA members grief for the loss of life, also, because millions of fish, squid, and crustaceans have died after having been washed ashore. PETA members contribute personal funds to raise our awareness of this tragic loss of marine life. But, since we have a sense of proportion, we just don't care.
Personally, though, I think that the Democrat Party ought to invite PETA to join in their coalition of special interests. Sounds like they'd fit right in.
