If you're good friends with these people would you please ask that guy who keeps begging me for money to put shoes on that little bare-footed tyke or pick her up and carry her?

This person cites organizations which have nothing to do with overseas aide in order to mislead readers. You will notice that Operation Blessing (a Pat Robertson org of all things), Samaritan's Purse (Franklin Graham), the International Mission Board (of the Southern Baptist Convention), among numerous other organizations have mobilized.

This author has problems and needs prayer.

Operation Blessing

International Mission Board

Samaritan's Purse

Catholic Relief Services (Designate contribution to Tsunami disaster fund on menu)

The Salvation Army South Asia Disaster Fund

World Vision Tsunami Relief Fund

Baptist World Aid

Catholic Relief Services, Lutheran World Relief, the B’nai B’rith and Church World Service (affiliated with over 30 denominations) must be chopped liver...though they sound suspiciously like the president's idea of "faith based charities" and at least partially representative of the "Christian right".

I don't know what other websites you were on, but the auther is highly INACCURATE in his observations. Another Christian organization representative of the "Christian right" is Samaritan's Purse.

"Exactly....we gave to the SALVATION ARMY...it's already geared up to help...."

Yet yet another organization representative of this shadowy "Christian right"...which we also gave to.

What's the ACLU doing about the tsunami? What's the NAACP doing about the tsumani? What's the Democratic National Committee (Terry McAwful at your service!) doing about the tsunami?

What's NOW doing about the tsunami? What's Emily's List doing about the tsunami? What are all the homosexual organizations doing about the tsunami?

Compassion International has set up an emergency fund for victims of the tsunami.

Pointing fingers at people is not a successful way to accomplish anything. Rejection comes quick.

>>Are they all on a values vacation?<<

Maybe webmasters are slow on the uptake due to the holiday?

Speaking as a Christian right-wing conservative, news reached me via email the very night the news broke. My Christian church was rallying the troops to send money and disaster relief to various missionaries who are already located in the disaster zone and calling for help.

So to the author -- We're waaay ahead of you, pal!

You have a good point. Since the finger-pointing started, exactly what are leftist groups doing?

Very interesting. I went on the websites...author is accurate in his observations.

And given his talent, I suspect Berkowitz was once a migrant farm worker.
Specializing in cherry-picking.

But I guess when he was busy looking for targets, he couldn't be bothered to
listen to THE BIGGEST CHRISTIAN TALK station in the USA: KKLA, 99.5 FM
in Los Angeles (www.kkla.com).

The Frank Pastore Show (M-F; 4-7PM PAC Time) has had a load of guests on the
subject of the disaster, commentary about the WorldVision aid group,
etc., etc., etc.

Berkowitz, should call Rabbi Daniel Lapin in Seattle and ask him about the
lack of Christian charities being on the front lines of compassion.

(Rabbi Lapin appeared in The Coral Ridge TV special "What If Jesus Had
Never Been Born"...talking about the massive presence of Christian groups in
humanitarian missions.)

Thanks Bob, this article is so nuts, and so representative of leftist thinking. It's like asking what my 86 year old auntie is doing about the tsunami. Nothing, because as several FReepers have pointed out about the organizations mentioned by this author, she is not in a position to do anything.

"Since the finger-pointing started, exactly what are leftist groups doing?"

Sounds like you answered your own question

I'm seeing a trend here that makes me a little uncomfortable. A Christian Nation (USA) has multiple disasters and no one says a word about the lack of donations outside the USA.

Islamic nations have a disaster the whole world is screaming that enough help isn't being sent fast enough from Christians... yet all I hear about are Christian's and Christian Organizations sending people and help. I still haven't heard much from the Islamic States re: their donations -- and most of them have a whole bucketload of money and are much closer.
