All in the name of fighting terrorism
All this does is further inconvenience law-abiding citizens especially senior citizens and the disabled who up to now could mail in their renewal form. There is in effect a 6-Points identification system in place where certain documents like your birth certificate is worth a point value. And do NOT bring in a laminated Social Security Card, it doesn't count. It must be the original paper to be valid for points. They tell you this "after" you waited an hour in the information line, they're so efficient at the NJ DMV.
All this malarkey and identity fraud still exists and our borders are still wide open.
Digital drivers license = euphemism for a national identity card. Next they'll be putting our religions on them as they do in Egypt so the Muslims can easily identify the Coptic Christians. It makes it easier for them to be terrorized.

This has all been underway for several years now, a push for and toward interstate standardization of driver's licenses. Something else you're likely to hear more about in the next year or two is the notion of a "trusted traveler" card for boarding airliners. I wrote a series of articles on a related issue and interviewed a number of players.

Expect a lot more personal data to be embedded in these cards before the standard format is finalized. I don't so much have a problem with standardized DLs, but it's a slippery slope and we all know where it's headed.

It did not escape the clutches of liberal judges.

You may want to watch your spelling. It sould be "FUKCed" up. Since the French sell the product "Fukc" product. But on FR, we try to temper our tantrums and language. And I am guilty as well of breaking the rules! Especially after too much coffee and watching the news.
Relax friend.
My feeling is that any word in the Oxford English dictionary is 'okie dokie' on a web site.

Another step closer to a total police state brought to you by the New Jersey communists.

I fully expect them to tell us that we need these chips embedded in our foreheads or back of our hands soon enough. It is all for security afterall.

So now we have all these new security measures, but we still give licenses to illegal immigrants?

And if I'm not mistaken the Motor Voter policy is still in effect where illegals get a voter registration form when they apply for or renew a drivers license using their fake name.

Fellow FReeper and a good man, JohnHuang2 has a saying which I wrote down:
