Indonesian authorities who found no signs of life in places like Meulaboh, Pulau Simeulue and Tapak Tuan while several islands off the west coast of Sumatera had "disappeared". It is hard to grasp the extent of this disaster. How anyone could stroll of a plane with a drink in hand expecting to sunbathe where so many people had just drowned . . .

I was remarking just yesterday to my co-workers that now is the time to visit there for a 'Misanthrope's Holiday'.
