I wasn't a Bubblehead, thank goodness. I was, however, on an ASR... There are Sailors, and there are Submariners, and then there are Sailors who rescue Submariners ;o)

I've been teaching my boys not to refer to anyone in the Navy by their "nicknames" that their Dad and his buddies use.
And my oldest just read what you posted. Hehe! The hubby thought it was funny as well. So? I guess I'll have to have another little discussion about this.
That's okay. We decided we didn't need no rescuin' so we got rid of all the ASRs.
Like saying there are sailors and marines then there are corpsmen that go with the marines..

I was a submariner and it's been a hell of a long time since any skimmer had to rescue a boat (US Navy). The last one being the diesel boat (USS Bonefish in 1988) that had the battery fire off of the East coast. Even in that case the sub crew rescued the sub, the skimmer was used only to evacuate unnecessary personnel from the sub.
