Enivronmentalist fearmongering nonsense.

The most credible reports on sea level rise state that we will not know for another 30 years whether or not sea levels are rising - at which time we will statistically be able to discern the relationship between sea level and local land levels.

OTOH - recent reports have noted that increases in atmospheric CO2 and warmer waters have accelerated the growth of coral.

Actually it's more complicated than that, but the news is more positive than previously thought.

Coral symbiotically depends on algae, and algae is particularly sensitive to temperature changes. There has been considerable concern about coral dying off as a result of temperature increases affecting the algae. However recent studies have shown that with temperature changes algaes are replaced by other algaes that are adapted to the different temperatures. As a result, the risk to coral caused by temperature changes is not as it was previously feared to be. The upshot of this is that although Manhattan may end up underwater when the polar ice caps melt, the diving will probably be really good. :-) Link to article on the subject.
