A little off topic, but if it is appropriate to call Swedes, "Swedes" (and I believe it is) and Brits "Brits", why is it inappropriate to call Japs "Japs".
Because Japs rhymes with "drats" -- oh, wait....

It is not appropriate to call Brits, Brits.
It is a crude and ignorant slang appellation used mainly by North Americans.
