This was a sizeable move. Initial reports say the Island of Sumatra moved 100 feet.

Yes, I read that too, but that move was lateral and I believe it is primarily the vertical movements that cause the tsunamis which is why they tend to be capped at lower levels of height but not breadth or depth.
