actually they said the waves were moving at 500 MPH.... Not that close to shore; maybe 30 mph. When is slows down is when the SWELL really bulges.

The term tidal wave is a gross misnomer and gives a false impression. They are surges. Surges are vastly different and more dangerous than similarly-sized waves.

I'd say the reason we dont have pics/vid of any of the really big waves is that anyone who would have been around to get them is dead
