We won't give to the Red Cross, but somebody posted this link yesterday and I found the Salvation Army listed, so we gave through them.

I've since found that some other good organizations are doing tsunami relief...Franklin Graham's Samaritan Purse organization, and Gospel for Asia that works through local pastors is also doing relief work.

I want to send my contribution and am trying to decide which group is the most reliable. Thanks for the information.

I agree with you Dawn, after the 9-11 debacle with the Red Cross they will get not another dime from us. But the Salvation Army is a good unit too. If you live in the Pacific Northwest as I do try these: Northwest Medical teams can be reached at 800-959-4325. The number for Mercy Corps is 800-852-2100.

Also would like to find out if that doctor in Houston obtained fuel for his 747 full of supplies? Seems he had 100 tons sitting on the ramp waiting to go. If someone can point the way I'd like to donate to him. That to me was a worthy cause too.

Yes we are a greedy bunch aren't we? (sarcasm/off)

Dawn, I agree with you. I won't give any money to the Red Cross after 9/11.

Good that you donated but why won't you give to the Red Cross?

I recommend worldvision.org. Low overhead. Hugh Hewitt recommends it also.

I would never donate to the Red Cross.

How soon we forget the scandal that occurred a number of years ago where their execs were skimming money and don't forget the 9/11 fiasco.

When my Dad was in WWII and stationed in London they offered him coffee and donuts then told him he owed them $1.00!

The Salvation Army is a great choice of charities. I've done some investigating of "charities" and Americans need to be informed on who they are giving their hard earned money to.

BTW, those dollars coming from the US are actually donations made by each of us through the taxes we pay.

As for me, I'm spending my extra funds on sending things that our men and women in the Military can use while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. You can become personally involved and eliminate the "middle man". Try www.anysoldier.com
