USAID has a list with links of all the relief organizations working in the tsunami area.
If everyone gives something, it will be huge.

I gave at the Amazon site to the American Red Cross. They charged my credit card.The money is earmarked for the tsunami relief.
A big problem is that they need helicopters to get the supplies to the people. The roads are a mess.
Pakistan is helping with helicopters.

My husband just came home for lunch and wanted me to see who we could donate through.
I wanted to donate through Salvation Army, but we wondered if they would be allowed in Muslim countries, but found them on this list.
I called and they took the donation info over the phone, I really trust the Salvation Army to be good stewards of money given for disaster relief.
Yes. This list is good because it tells who is in the area.
Tell everyone. Sometimes if it is easy, people will do it.
Most people can afford 10-100 dollars. Those people who survive because of the help will remember those who helped them, too.

The tragedy that has resulted from the Tsunami in the Indian Ocean is indescribable. The suffering is beyond measure. All indications show that disease and privation may take more lives than the 52,000 who have already died.
Operation Blessing, with existing operations strategically placed in Hyderabad, India; Jakarta, Indonesia; Chiang Mai, Thailand; Manilla, Philippines; and Singapore, is answering the call to assist victims of the Tsunami. Our centers have in-country staff and volunteers already on the ground organizing medical teams and relief supplies for hard-hit areas.
Operation Blessing India has a medical and relief team en route to Nellore to assist those made victims by the Tsunami. Our team will provide medical care and emergency rations. Operation Blessing India also has a medical team mobilized to assist thousands of victims in Chennai (Madras).
Operation Blessing Indonesia has chartered a private aircraft in Jakarta and is sending a disaster response team to Aceh in Northern Sumatra. In addition, and in cooperation with the Indonesian Airforce, a C-130 is being readied for a large Operation Blessing team of medical professionals and volunteers. The plane will also carry three tons of medical relief and supplies.
Our Singapore office has already launched a medical and relief team to assist the victims in the devastated areas of Sri Lanka.
In short, Operation Blessing is now on the scene to help, at least in part, some of those who are suffering. All we need are the funds to enlarge our effort. It is our plan to distribute from our headquarters no less than a million dollars so that our teams can purchase needed supplies in country at the best possible prices without customs duties and overseas transportation costs.

December 27, 2004, Baltimore - In one of the largest initial responses for emergency assistance in South and Southeast Asia, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) made an initial commitment of $500,000 to provide shelter and immediate healthcare needs to thousands devastated by a massive earthquake and tsunamis that hit the Bay of Bengal December 26.
CRS and local partners immediately mobilized to the hardest hit areas of India, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Indonesia. CRS response is expected to climb into the millions in order to meet emergency needs and for the subsequent rebuilding and rehabilitation of the region. The initial $500,000 will be used primarily to help our partners bring food and emergency relief to the survivors and to avoid the spread of disease. More than 23,000 people in nine countries are reported dead; millions have been devastated and left without homes.

One should do due diligence before giving money to any charity.
Looks like one of the charities listed, http://www.airserv.org/airservhome.html specifically provides air support.
The Red Cross learned its lesson. They now make it clear if the money goes to a general fund or to a specific effort.
They did a good job in Florida.
All these charities have to compete a bit for our money.
We can all argue about who is best, but the people need help right away, not after we research everything.

How do I get a direct link to a Catholic Charity donation page for the Tsunami relief?
Go to the CRS home page www.catholicrelief.org and hit the "make a donation" link. Follow the directions from there ... their server got hammered recently, but it seems to be back on line for the moment.
I did that, but it apears to take me to a general donation site.
My company gave to AmeriCares. Anyone know about that one.
