6 days is petty fast IMHO!

1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

1:27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

1:31 God saw all that He had made , and behold, it was very good . And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

This is one of the things that always bothered and confused me in the Bible:

"Let us make man"...

"Let us confuse their tongues..."

What's with this "us"? To whom is He referring? It seems to imply a "decision by committee".

I don't believe it is angels, because these phrases imply an equality that simply does not exist. In the presence of angels, wouldn't He be more inclined to say, "I will make man in My image", or, "I'll confuse their tongues".

Anyone who has thoughts or ideas on this will be most appreciatively welcomed.

I think that the "days" in Genesis are actually periods of time. I don't consider much of the Bible to be science or history, though some books can be seen as an attempt at a true interpretation of historical flux in the Middle East. Some of the Bible is simply beautiful literature, sublime without edification. As in most great literature, the truth lies in the metaphor.
