In New York, the statute of limitations for attempted murder is five years

But if attempts are ongoing, that would be five years from the most recent attempt, correct? I would think that even if one could not be prosecuted for earlieer attempts per se, they could still be used to suggest a pattern of behavior for the purpose of showing that later actions were not reckless endangerment but were in fact genuine attempts at murder.
