I think he played a defense attorney. Watch the first season and you'll notice a few of the guest stars later got recurring roles.

You're right - he played Atty Frank Lehrman in "The Wages of Love" episode in the 2nd season.

Carey Lowell as Asst. D.A. Jamie Ross and Richard Brooks as Asst. D.A. Paul Robinette have appeared as defense attys after their stints as DA's.
