Who would believe it? Whales, earthquakes and corporate greed. The environmentalists have lost it.

Now I dont claim to be an expert on seismic activityThat's as long as this piece should have been.

Now I dont claim to be an expert on seismic activity, but I will proceed to demonstrate irrefutably, beyond peradventure, that I am an ignoramus of the first order, a nitwit, a dimwitted numbskull, a laughingstock without the least shred of self-awareness.

What is interesting about this is that the same place where the whale beachings have been taking place over the last 30 days is the same general area where the 8.1 Australian earthquake took place, and this is the same area where they are doing these seismic tests. Then 2 days after the Australian tectonic plate shifted, the 9.0 earthquake shook the coast of Indonesia.
Maybe the whales got on their whale phones and heard there would be a tidal wave and wanted to be there for the whole thing, and they got the wrong beach.
We will be following up on this story as more information is gathered.
You do that. I will be following up on the 50,000+ DEAD PEOPLE. You know the species you belong to.

Wow! No matter what the circumstance, it always leads back to "Big Oil" "GLOBAL WARMING"! And, though not written, at least implied...BUSH'S FAULT!

So the whale poop is causing the earthquakes? Who'd a thunk?
I'd imagine there could be subsonic noise from the intense pressure of the plate stresses.

The funniest thing about the actual web page the article comes from is this disclaimer at the bottom:

So the whale poop is causing the earthquakes? Conclusion: we must exterminate all whales.

"Quick Reporter Lefty Socialist! There's a disaster somewhere and we need a 'blame corporate America / Republicans' angle!"
To: shrinkermd
They forgot to mention the reelection of George Bush as the cause of these disasters. After all if John Kerry had been elected the crippled would be walking, the Iraq war would be settled by his brilliant plans and of course a whole host of natural and environmental disasters would have been prevented.

"Now I dont claim to be an expert on seismic activity"
the author went on to say, "but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night."

So, can we then deduce that whales and dolphins avenged their fallen (floating?) comrades with an earthquake and subsequent waves?

Whats the mystery about the whales? I saw a documentary which pretty much established that these beachings are the result of some cross species miscommunications:
