I agree. Based on this report, the logical answer is to not infringe, if that's ever OK anyway, on CCW rights.

In my little village in NH we can arm a division, no property crime, I haven't locked my doors since I moved here part time. I don't think that you would like to break in and meet my daughter and her .357 in PMS mode.

Makes sense. However, recently home invasions and carjackings have become a real problem in North Texas. I don't know for sure, but I'd wager it's a problem in Houston as well.

That has more to do with the size of your town than anything. Smaller locales don't have the anonymity to fade back into after leaving the scene of crime.
Recently we've seen a rash of home invaders who seem adept at getting the drop on armed homeowners.

Slightly off topic, but related I think. At least two towns that I know of (Virgin, Utah and and Kennesaw, Georgia) have laws which require all households to be armed for self defense. Does anyone have the crime stats for those towns? Are there any other towns which have the same laws? Common sense says that criminals will avoid those places.

In Texas, wearing a pistol openly on your hip, as you suggest might not mean you're looking for trouble, but it does mean that you're going to be arrested in the next 20 minutes.

It bears noting that Kennesaw's law was meant to be symbolic and that no one is actually required to own or carry.

There are no laws anywhere that actually compell anyone to own or carry. Such a law would be struck down in a moments notice. Kennesaw's law is admittedly and openly symbolic, written with no penalty for disobedience so it couldn't be challenged in court.

Exactly!!!!

A friend of mine who lives in So Cal was threatened with a car-jacker. He pulled out his Kimber, and the perp ran off. My friend didn't even bother to report to authorities. He told me there would be too much BS with the LEOs.
Personally, if I'd been the driver, I'd have shot the car-jacking bastard. Oh well; we all have a differing methodology in crime reduction.

If perps are going in with the idea that they are going to get the drop on the homeowner then the perps are either crazy loons or drugged out. Their type of enterprise is always more successful if they go in when homeowners aren't at home.

It's not about guns, it's about the vast hard left wing conspiracy to control, take total power and destroy America and freedom. It's just one part of their plan. Control the media, control the schools, rewrite history, distort reality and take over.

How, pray tell, are they able to do that? Well, details are hard to come buy, as I haven't read or seen any description on how it was done, but from the sketchy details it seems like a very simple two-fold answer: 1) They avoid houses with dogs
2) They're in the house before the homeowner can go for a gun.
I confess, I'm guilty. I'm a gun owner, and I possess a CHL, and right now, I'm a long way from a gun. However, I have dogs that would alert me early and allow me to get to mine. I hope.

I know a MMM'er. She is clueless about the 2nd Amendment, freedom, rights, etc. She is absolutely convinced that her way is the only way and that she is smarter than the NRA. She has a bitch's attitude also.

Remember in Florida right after they passed their CCW? The car-jackers and other mutts started attacking tourists, especially near airports.
Why tourists? They could tell because they were driving rental cars that they had flown in, and would not have guns in their cars.
Not one of the million mommies is going to acknowledge the significance of this.

I wonder what this group considers to be "credible evidence"? As you clearly posted, this article is directly contradictory to most all of the evidence I have seen.
