Later tests showed that the human – dubbed Oetzi – became trapped and died around 5,200 years ago.

The latest tests on Oetzi show that he died from being shot with an arrow. The flint arrowhead was still in the body. How they missed this the first time around is an appaling example of just plain carelessness.

In any event this guy was not "trapped by a sudden climate change".

OTOH, he may have given as much as he got--he had a flint knife with the blood of four other people on it...

You might say it's our way of proving that we weren't sleeping through the lecture, prof.

"German researchers have proposed that if we could heat up the Sahara by propagating hardy broadleafed plant species, we might well be able to pull the monsoons back in and create a new pluvial period."

I don't think that is to far fetched.

"(They were no way near "first")"

I agree. They arrived about 6,000 years ago.

Some believe the world's oceans were reduced by up to 500 feet during the Ice Age.

This is a hobby.

Doesn't keep one from being "the recognized expert".

"No one found the Enemy Man in the same area, so perhaps wild animals were able to gobble him up."

They've recovered DNA of four different humans from the blood spots found on Oetzi. (Hand to hand fighting?)

Not a problem. Your timing was good, and clearly many people find the story interesting. I'm just kidding around.

I don't really see how they can say he died from that arrow, as he could have died from the cold after being shot and not able to care for himself.

In the scenario you present, I would say he died from the arrow. Or at least the guy who shot the arrow into him killed him.

It is just like today. If some punk shoots an honest citizen and the citizen falls off a bridge as a result of being shot, it doesn't matter whether the shot or the fall was the cause of death, the punk is guilty of murder.

An even better example is the Matthew Shepherd case where the perps beat the victim and left him to die on a fence post. Even though he died from exposure the perps were convicted of murdering him.

Ice Man appeared to be lying down trying to get some sleep or died from exposure due to the wound.

I am not certain you can make this conclusion. Yes he was lying down when found, but in general, people who die from being shot with an arrow end up lying down. I know this for sure from watching many cowboy & Indian movies as a kid. I saw it on TV too, so it must be true...
